Colby is the son of Todd and Tammy Crase of Winterset, Iowa. Born into the world of rodeo, Colby has always played an active role in his parents business, White Buffalo Productions. As its vice-president, he began accepting responsibilities at bull riding events they produced at a very young age and creating his own place in the world of bull riding. Colby's roots may lie in the rodeo arena but when he competes he doesn't wear cowboy boots! Colby has found his place in the gymnastic arena. Hard work and dedication has earned him top awards at event after event. Beginning at the Missouri State Fair in 2004 Colby began giving expedition performances on the trampoline which has been a big crowd pleaser. |

How did this cowboy end up in the world of competition gymnastics? The year Colby was in second grade he watched the Winterset Hot Shots performing in the town square at the world famous Winterset Covered Bridge Festival. He thought it was real "cool" and that he would like to learn how to do a flip. He asked his parents if he could join the group and the rest is history. When we asked Colby what his favorite part of the sport was, his reply, " You can do anything you want to do if you try." Colby's long term goal is to compete at the Olympics. A high goal, but one he is not afraid to do the work necessary to reach. He spends hours practicing and has traveled twice in the last year to study with his idols Nadia Comminish and Bart Conner at the Bart Conner Gymnastic Academy in Oklahoma. Colby is a member of both the United States Tumbling Association and the American Athletic Union. Besides helping his parents with their bull ridings Colby's other interest include his love of animals which include his cat, dog and snake. Spending time with brothers Dakota and Weston is another priority for this young athlete. Colby attends school at Winterset Junior High School were he excels at the academic level as well. Colby is a great young man, loved by all who know him and we hope you enjoy this web site dedicated to following Colby on his journey toward his dream of competing at the Olympics. |
